BREAKING NEWS: April Payrolls Expand Sharply

The government reported Friday morning that nonfarm payrolls grew by 244,000 last month, far better than what economists were expecting. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate ticked up to 9% from 8.8%, its first increase since November. Stock-index futures are rallying on the higher-than-expected payroll number.
